Music Ministries


FUMC uses music to generate excitement, beauty and inspiration in our weekly worship. The choral and instrumental programs are intended to nurture those involved and to give a means of participating in worship, outreach and praise as well as an opportunity for personal growth and enjoyment. Our music ministry welcomes anyone who would like to join in this most rewarding endeavor. Whether you are a professional musician or someone who wishes to join a musical group for the first time, there is a place for you.

  • Spirit Ringers

    This bell choir is for Adults who will enjoy this choir that will play in worship monthly.  For information contact Kathy Leonard at kleonard@fumcmanhattan.com

  • No Stress bells

    This fun choir is for anyone grades 7 through "still able to get up the stairs to the bell loft and pick up a bell" fellowship, fun, and bell fundamentals. For beginners and those who do not wish to commit to playing in worship on a regular basis.  Rehearsals are held in August.  For information contact Kathy Leonard at kleonard@fumcmanhattan.com

  • Youth Bells

    For youth grades 7th - 12 grade who want to learn but only perform 1-2 times a semester in Sunday worship.   For information contact Kathy Leonard at kleonard@fumcmanhattan.com

  • YUM Bells

    Children in grades 4th - 6th grade will rehearse on Wednesdays after YUM at 5:15pm - 6:00pm.  Members do NOT have to attend YUM to ring in the YUM Ringers.  This choir will play in worship 1-2 times a semester.  

  • Children's Choir

    Participating in children's choir will give children a chance to sing scripture they will remember forever, enjoy a form of worship they can understand and build on, and become an integral part of the Sunday worship offered at FUMC.   • Children's Bell Choir

    Through this beginner bell choir children are given opportunities that will help them define and discover their musical strengths in a safe supportive environment. Offered to children in grades 4-6 on Wednesday at 5:30pm. Contact Kathy by email at kleonard@fumcmanhattan.com

  • youth orchestra

    If you are a youth musicians who love playing music and growing closer to God a - this orchestra is for you! Our mission is to use the musical gifts that God has given us in order to bring others closer to Him.  Open to any youth musician, 6th - 12th grade and is composed of string, wind, brass, and percussion instrumentalist, as well as vocalist. This group rehearses on Sundays from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm and will give several performances during the semester in church and the community.
