The Mission

“Connecting to Christ, Growing in Community, Serving the World”
is a simple way to describe the way we live out God’s call at First UMC Manhattan. The three are intimately bound and we hope that in everything we do, all three are happening.

The Vision

Our vision is to create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. 

I'm New

First United Methodist Church of Manhattan is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory. Join us for our Sunday services!

What To Expect:

Our Sunday morning services start at 8:45am with a Contemporary service where you will find a live band and a relaxed atmosphere. 

At 10:00am we have our Sunday School hour. We offer Sunday School classes for everyone, young and old. 


At 11:00am we have our Traditional service. We often have a choir leading music with an organ or piano. We also have special music from handbell groups, orchestras, and guest musicians. The sermons follow the same series.
